Module 1:Â The basics
In this module, we explain everything you need to know about anatomy, standard values, recognizing emergency situations and the simulation manikin. We will send this directly to your home.
Here you will find an overview of the individual chapters from Module 1 of our first aid course:
Introduction
Welcome to the course! Here you can find out everything you need to know about the course, the schedule and us.
Agenda
Your overview of the video course as well as additional materials such as the ebook and various checklists.
The simulation mannekin
Our innovative medical baby simulation mannekin "Juni" is an important component and companion for the entire course.
The emergency kit
What should you definitely have in your emergency kit for babies and children?
Anatomy & standard values
Where exactly are the baby's lungs located? How often does a baby's heart beat per minute? All about this in this chapter.
Get the right help
From emergency calls about poison to standardized emergency calls - this chapter is all about calling for help.
Module 2:Â Saving lifes
Here you will not only learn the theory of correct ventilation, cardiac massage and the use of the defibrillator, but will also be able to apply these skills directly to the simulation manikin under our guidance.
Here you will find an overview of the individual chapters from Module 2 of our first aid course:
Recognizing emergency situations
We will teach you how to assess whether the emergency services are needed immediately.
Life-saving immediate measures - ABCDE
The ABCDE scheme is an important basis for the initial assessment. We therefore go into it in detail in this chapter.
Respiration
In this chapter you will learn all about the correct ventilation of babies and infants and practise this under supervision on the simulation manikin.
Cardiac massage
The right technique and the right frequency - learn and practise everything you need to know about chest compressions for babies and children.
Resuscitation for babies and children
Even if you hopefully never find yourself in this situation, it is extremely important that you know all the steps involved in resuscitation and practice them.
Automated external defibrillator
This chapter is all about the correct use of the defibrillator.
Module 3: Critical emergency situations
Minor and major injuries can always occur at home or on the go. In this module, you will therefore learn what critical emergency situations there are and how to react correctly. These include, for example, burns, broken bones, bleeding, choking and much more.
Here you will find an overview of the individual chapters from Module 3 of our first aid course:
Swallowing
From 5-6 months, children begin to feel everything with their mouths, which can lead to swallowing.
Drowning
Drowning is the most common cause of death in children up to the age of five. You can find out how to behave correctly in this chapter.
Burns & scalds
Unfortunately, ice-cold water is a widespread myth. You can find out what you should do instead in the section on burns.
Fever
When do we talk about fever in newborns? What treatment options do I have and when do I need to see a doctor?
Seizures & febrile convulsions
What should I do if my child has a febrile seizure? How can I prevent it?
Sudden infant death syndrome
Sudden infant death syndrome occurs suddenly out of complete health. What are possible trigger factors?
Falls & fractures
From minor bumps to falls at great heights. We can't prevent everything, but we can react correctly.
Injuries & bleeding
In this chapter, you will learn all about injuries, how you can stop bleeding yourself and when you should take your child to a doctor.
Module 4: Emergencies in everyday life
This module is all about everyday situations and how you should react correctly. For example, it covers tick bites, allergic reactions, minor wounds, swallowing small parts and much more.
Here you will find an overview of the individual chapters from module 4 of our first aid course:
Abdominal pain
Appendicitis, 3-month colic, constipation and much more - abdominal pain is an issue that affects all parents of young children.
Ingestion of small parts & poisons
Especially when playing with older siblings, it can always happen that small parts or, in the worst case, something poisonous is swallowed.
Diseases of the respiratory tract
In this chapter you will learn all about various respiratory infections in babies and children, such as RSV bronchiolitis, pseudocroup and asthma attacks.
Allergic reactions
What can you do if you suddenly experience an acute hypersensitivity reaction to food, medication or other substances?
Nosebleed
Sitting position, head position, stopping bleeding - in this chapter you will learn everything you need to know about how to deal with nosebleeds.
Earache
Young children in particular are especially susceptible to middle ear infections due to their anatomy, but how do you recognize them?
Insect bites & tick bites
How can I prevent insect bites from becoming infected? And what is the best way to remove ticks from my child?
Module 5: Bonus material
What should you have in your medicine cabinet to be as prepared as possible for all emergencies? Which vaccinations are important for your child and when? Module 5 deals with these and other questions.
Here you will find an overview of the individual chapters from Module 5 of our first aid course:
Medicine cabinet
Here you will learn what you should have in your medicine cabinet to treat the most common minor and major emergencies.
